Vinod Completed his degree in Occupational Therapy from MGR Medical University, Chennai, India in 2003. Vinod has been working as an Occupational Therapist in Canada for the past 10 years. Before that he worked in the United Kingdom as an Occupational Therapist for 8 years.
Vinod had worked in hospitals , community health centres, rehabilitation centres and home care. Vinod has worked with Children, Adults and Older adults and enjoys helping people to get back to productive life. Vinod is interested in learning and practicing new skills to improve his service.
When not at work, Vinod enjoys hunting, Fishing, Camping and driving.
Chronic Pain management : Occupational therapy practitioners collaborate with patients to identify and incorporate self-management strategies into their daily routines to reduce pain, increase participation in meaningful occupations, and improve quality of life. Occupational Therapists use bio Psycho social approach to treat pain.
Hand Therapy: to improve gross and fine motor skills, ROM, Dexterity and strength after hand injury/surgery.
Pediatrics: to improve milestone development, ADL training and cognitive perceptual rehab.
Concussion assessment and rehab: OTs provide a unique perspective on assessing, intervening, and re-evaluating the functional impact on concussion to support individuals gradual return to their daily activities.
Cognitive assessments: Cognitive assessments after concussion and with any neurological conditions.
Functional assessments: Assess individuals ability to perform ADLs, IADLS and leisure activities after having an injury.
Stockings assessments : Assess for compression stockings to improve circulation.
Ergonomics assessments : Assess individuals posture and make recommendations to reduce risk of injury and to improve well being
Home environment assessment and modifications: Assess home environment and suggest modifications to maximise functioning
Provision of equipment: Provide equipment to improve independence in Activities of Daily living.
